Born in Alcoi, Spain in 1978, lives and works in Berlin, Germany. She completed an MA in Fine Arts at the Polytechnic University of Valencia and has been awarded a degree in Sculpture from the Academia di Belle Arti in Rome, Italy.
Working within the mediums of photography, installation and sculpture, Nuria Fuster’s work explores notions of inherent tension and controlled chaos through material reorganization. She investigates the material part of reality, not only as a device of self-reflection but also as a way of establishing points of focus in behaviours and processes that evidence the natural hegemony of things. Primitive agents such as air, fire, temperature changes or gravity actively participate and determine the work, either on its surface, through actions or as a representation of themselves and their context.
Fuster has taken part in numerous international group exhibitions, most notably at Musée des Arts décoratifs in Paris, Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid and Centro Botín in Santander, Spain. Her work has been shown at ARCO Madrid, Art Basel Miami Beach, The Armory Show and Art Cologne.
